meet Michelle
A part of our Heshima family since 2014.
When we met Michelle, her father passed away, she was abandoned by her mother and living with her grandparents, at the hands of her extremely abusive grandfather. She would be starved, tortured and forced to work rather than go to school.

She found rescue at our house.

We brought her to boarding school, where she healed and started to find who Michelle was.
She then graduated from primary school.
Something she never thought she would ever be able to do.
​
Her great academic performance got her called to Kisoko Girls, a high performing Provincial Level High School.
She is now in her 1st year of high school, and even learning French!
(We converse, and it’s so awesome).
​
She’s a shining star, a natural care giver, and LOVES helping tiny and elder humans.
Her levels of respect for herself and everyone around her are unparalleled.
