As a tutor, I am grateful for the opportunity I’ve had with I Am Heshima, which has allowed me to embark on a meaningful journey. They have not only exposed me to their mission of helping children from the most challenging environments but also provided them with access to quality education. This opportunity has deepened my passion and given me a chance to teach, instill hope, and shape the futures of beautiful, young children under the umbrella of I Am Heshima.

With the guidance of the team led by Lexis Beattie, CEO and founder, I have witnessed innocent, neglected children transform into inspired and aspirational individuals. So far, I can confidently say this journey has been a dream come true, and I am excited to begin my professional duties.

My experience at I Am Heshima has inspired new goals for my career. Having not had the chance to fully pursue my studies as an ECDE (Early Childhood Development and Education) teacher, I now dream of one day enrolling in a Master’s program in ECDE. I aspire to earn a PhD in childhood education, and as the saying goes, "I study to clean children's mess," I want to become the best "mess cleaner." I aim to be among the key stakeholders in the ECDE field, both locally and globally. I am confident this dream will come true with the support of the incredible team and family that surrounds me."

With a degree in Early Childhood education, Gilbert strengthens our children's’ academic foundations through tutoring & Individualized education plans (IEPs).
